Kicking for Rhinos was a smashing success! Thank you to everyone that played bingo, bid on auction items, donated money, bought pizza, bought baked goods and then kicked some balls all to help rhinos. Please join me and the Bay Area Chapter for the American Association of Zoo Keepers (BAAAZK) in helping to protect rhinos and the wildlife that share their habitat. By participating with BAAAZK and its national organization’s biggest fundraiser “Bowling For Rhinos,” we will raise money and awareness for rhino conservation across the world. 100% of funds raised go to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Action for Cheetahs in Kenya, support efforts to help the Javan rhino in Ujung Kulon National Park, and the Sumatrain rhino in Bukit Barisan Selatan and Way Kambas National Parks through the International Rhino Foundation.  The money raised helps pay for the park rangers who protect the wildlife in the parks and their equipment. Kicking for Rhinos Promo Video

BAAAZK is excited to announce that we are dedicating National Zoo Keeper Week (July 20-26) to AAZK’s flagship fundraiser, “Bowling for Rhinos!”

We will be celebrating and raising money for rhino conservation all week long with our first event on July 20th at CuriOdyssey.  It will be bingo, but instead called: R-H-I-N-O!  Throughout the week we will have bake sales at various facilities and an online auction.  We will end the week with a kick ball game night July 26th in Burlingame.

Please post our flyer at your facilities.  The link to the online auction will be sentJuly 20th. We can’t wait to celebrate rhinos with all of you!

We have a new page on our website!  Look for the “AAZK Online” tab at the top of the page.  Anyone with a subscription to this great resource can now log in through our BAAAZK webpage.  In addition, there is a link with registration instructions and information on navigating AAZK Online.
